What we're good at

Supported Work Program

Our Supported work program is for individuals who are developmentally disabled. All of our clients are adults. This program is largely referral based from Community Living British Columbia , however we do take private clients as well. Clients who are accepted into this program must be able to work independently after a designated training period and must also be able to get to and from work independently. The goal of the program is to assist clients into the community working a paid position of their choice that suits their skills and abilities. We will also support individuals with work experience placements in order to build their employability skills as well as volunteer positions as it is important to give back to the community. Support for our clients comes in varying levels which can include hygiene, resume building_ interview skills, and on-site job coaching by employment specialists.

Employment Specialists

Natalie L'Ecuver and Ron Martin head up our supported work program. They specialize in obtaining employment for individuals who are seeking to reach the next step in their lives. A combination of experience and education has allowed Natalie and Ron to understand and meet the needs of our clients and employers in the community.

Individual One-on-One

Providing one on one support in the community or within our client's homes. Staff focus on high quality and professional support. These services are based on the concepts maximizing the promotion of individual growths, freedoms, and independence.

Time Well Spent

This program is offered out of the Parksville/Qualicum Beach area from the main office in Nanaimo to adult individuals with developmental disabilities. We offer our clients an opportunity to spend some quality one on one time with a support worker in their home or in their community. The main focus of this program is companionship while building and maintaining professional relationships.

Community Inclusion

We promote a full authentic life for the people we support. We assist individuals to participate in the community, whether it be by assisting them to make friends, or by going where they want to go and doing what they like to do. Staff provide a variety of outings in the community such as swimming bowling, visits to the parks, and local businesses.

Residential Support

This program provides care in one of our community residences. The program offers one-on-one support when needed as well as a structured, safe environment for our clients while promoting self-independence and routine.

Helping foster healthy relationships in our community.
